Found this incredible little empanada place on Federal between Alameda and Mississippi. It is called Empanadas La Abuela. No sign, just a counter with about 4 stools. The beef empanadas are $3 each and absolutely perfect — flaky crust, well-seasoned filling. The chimichurri sauce is house-made. I have been going back twice a week since I discovered it. Cash only.
